10 Pregnancy Instagram Accounts to Follow

*For some more bump and baby Instagram accounts to follow see my update on this post here*

I have become a bit of a stalker of late. Virtual stalking though so it’s perfectly above board, given that everyone’s at it. The whole point of social media is to make oneself stalkable, right? It would be rude not to indulge the good folk of the online world who put their lives out there for everyone to peruse. Being a big image-lover, Instagram is my current favourite and with baby bumps being my main preoccupation I started delving into the accounts of prolific bump snappers and now I’m slightly addicted. In case you’re in the same boat and are looking for some visual bumpspiration, here are my favourites.

Amber Fillerup Clark is an American blogger with a healthy herd of 439k followers, also known as the Barefoot Blonde thanks to her heavenly tresses (which, it comes as some consolation, are not entirely grown by her own follicles but which she makes look quite fabulous regardless). She gave birth to son Atticus last summer so a bit of scrolling is required to find her bump pictures, taken in sunny climes and showcased in bright maxi dresses and bikinis, but they are well worth it and in the process you can gawp at the gorgeousness of her family.

Dutch fashion blogger Cindy ven der Heyden is now 35 weeks pregnant but still committed to a faultlessly put-together wardrobe of black leather trousers and killer heels. COTTDS stands for Come Over To The Dark Side and she lives her life in a stylish monochrome palette that takes in everything from her clothes to interiors all documented in a clean, graphic photographic style. Even the clothes and accessories for her soon-to-arrive baby boy fit the black and white theme. Clever really; with a baby on the way this is the sort of woman who, even through a fog of sleep deprivation, will be able to throw on anything in her wardrobe and it will coordinate.

My favourite for daily doses of bump love from women all over the world, @inspiredpregnancy is an edited account of bump pictures, both professional and self-taken, submitted by pregnant women and often themed according to the day. Think Fit Pregnancy Friday and Selfie Saturday and you get the idea. They will also respond to an #inspiredpregnancy hashtag should you wish to big up your own Instagram bump photos.

I have a hard time keeping the green-eyed monster at bay when my feed updates with another impeccably crafted Instagram photo from Sarah Sherman Samuel. In her profile she describes herself as creative director, designer and maker and every one of her photos makes her life look utterly enviable from her artful food porn to her chic home renovations and now her perfectly dressed baby bump. If this won’t make you put more effort into your iPhone photos then nothing will.

I have to confess to having a major Insta-crush on Kelly Huljev and her family of three, soon to be four. A Jane Birkin-esque natural beauty and LA-based photographer, she and her husband have captured her pregnancy with some beautifully filmic black and white shots of her bump that deserve a gallery greater than Instagram.

A self-confessed bump spammer, Instagramming her way through her third pregnancy, Sophia James’ bump selfies make an almost daily appearance, interspersed by pictures of two very photogenic children. If they are anything to go by then it’s no wonder she keeps on breeding.

Professional photos of bumps and babies with plenty of fathers getting in on the act. They all manage to stay on the right side of cheesy which is an impressive achievement amongst thousands of posts and there are some particularly lovely, intimate delivery room pictures to warm the cockles if you’re in need of a pick-me-up dose of that much-lauded pregnancy friendly hormone oxytocin.

A one stop shop for bump, baby and family inspiration backed up by a blog with posts about everything from birth announcements to birthday party themes to nursery décor. If the mothers around you start getting competitive this is a failsafe place to look for one-upmanship ideas.

All healthy living, sun-bleached freshness, this is the account that makes me want to move Mr E, the bump and me to a white-washed home near the sea where the sun always shines. Failing that, it will be there as a good reminder to book our first family holiday shortly after baby arrives.

Unsurprisingly, a style led account with lots of pregnant celeb bumpspiration. For those of us who can’t afford the maternity wardrobe of the likes of Keira Knightly and Blake Lively there are also bump dressing ideas for the common mum-to-be and lots of bare bump and newborn shots if you’ve not already overdosed.
